How do I check the voltage of a battery in a flashlight?
For my engineering project, I test whether the voltage a battery is the most affected in cold temperature or warmer. I created my pocket, in a room to warm temperature, the other at room temperature cold. When I tried to control the tension in the flashlight, it has not work. I ended up taking the battery from the flashlight and try it. Also, I looked on the meter, and 7 mA read, but I could not find the tension. And there was a tray for the battery meter (not digital) and the arrow landed on a question mark. Is there a way to test the voltage without having to take the flashlight apart? Is the battery voltage drops when it is in the flashlight or the other way? How do I read the voltage on the meter? PS The flashlight is small and uses AAA batteries Lithium-Ion battery.
You must connect to additional son the flashlight itself. Son both are needed. Do not attempt to weld on drums - dangerous. A wire connects the circuit on each side of the battery. There are Many types of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, but wait-3.3-4V per cell. The voltage of the battery can be tested outside of the flashlight. I'm not sure the result will be a lot though. Yes it varies slightly with temperature, and so what. The tension also depends on age (use) the battery and if it is enabled or disabled. Using the multimeter. It should have both son test holes plugged good, probably marked V + and Common. These may be red and black too. Switch switches the function / range and power (can be combined or separated) in volts DC 10V or 20V depending on what you have. Connect the two son to the two terminals / end of the battery. Should read the correct voltage for your battery type. It seems you have a digital multimeter and it should have a full battery if you want to make meaningful measurements. You might find the user manual to make it work properly - search online for your meter can be .. Your level of testing the meter can be a battery of known voltage. Alkaline battery will be close to 1.55 to fresh 20-25C. Compare with another device for greater certainty that yours is working properly .. It would make more sense determine how long a battery fully charged the torch at different temperatures. Record the voltage every minute and intrigue a curve. From fully charged, making sure you have a good way to standardize the procedure of load without overload, it is reproducible. Same test, same result. It should be from the same voltage at the same temperature for all tests. Now put the torch to temperature controlled, and allow the temperature to adjust, maybe an hour or more. Turn it on, save the time of tension with the "point final "when the light begins to fade and the voltage starts to drop rapidly. This tension can be relieved in time for different temperatures .. The end point should not be too low - down 10% maybe, and certainly not under 3V per cell. Do the same predetermined voltage for all tests. For a 3.6V cell, it can be 3.2V, for example. Yopu should also find a data sheet for specific battery type for more information the tensions and what to expect.
