Holster Smart

where is the best and most comfortable place to carry a gun on you?

i own a medium size gun, and i seem not to be able to find a place on my body to carry my gun concealed and comfortable. i own a universal holster that can be used by left and right handed drawers. if i put it in the front in my groin area, i am fine until i decide to sit down. the the grip and hammer dig into my abdomen. if i put it in my back, when i sit it stabs into my back. if i put it on my side, it looks like i have a tumor coming out of my side. the only place i have found is in my pocket with the holster clip facing out, just like a pocket knife clips on to the pocket. the only problem with that is when i lift my arm or arms my shirt rises and exposes my gun. and i don't like that smart holster that fits under your clothes. my ideal place is to carry it on my right side toward my groin near my right pocket. what do you have in mind???

ok, first off, i certainly hope you have a concealed carry permit. otherwise, if you get caught running around with a concealed weapon, you will be in big trouble. and I am sure you do not want that.

the BEST place to carry a weapon is on your right or left hip, depending on which hand is your dominant "gun hand." this is primarily because carrying a gun in your groin area is retarded (think about it), and carrying it in your back waist is, as you put, uncomfortable, but they DO make a special holster to carry in this area (but you may want to downsize your weapon to compact).

you can also invest in an ankle holster, and once again, put it on the side that you are most comfortable kneeling down and drawing from. your comfort is key, because later that will produce speed in your draw.

if you are carrying concealed, buying a form fit holster is the only way it will not look like you have a tumor. they are snug, and easily concealable. if you are not carrying concealed, which i doubt, but if you are not, then your right or left hip is your only option.
