Is it possible to set a desk lamp that has been zapped by static electricity?
I bought a desk lamp fluorescent with a "touch" switch. To disable it and all you need to do is touch the silver circle. This is not a mechanical switch is what I say. your lamp is almost certainly permanently damaged. it could be repaired in an qualified in electronics with access to spare parts, but it would probably cost more than a new lamp. you can install a mechanical switch if you want to continue using it.
